A Closer Walk with Christ in 2026

Revelation 3:11-12

Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown. Rev 3:12  Him that overcomes will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.

Praise the Lord!  Our revival begins this Sunday.  As we come to this special time, the above verses make me think that the Lord is coming soon, and that I must remain faithful to Him. Having a revived heart will allow me to be faithful to Him until His coming.  I must then ask myself a question, “What is Revival?”   When I look for the answer, I find that many others have written on the subject also.  Here is the answer of Gary McIntosh.

Revival refers to a spiritual reawakening from a state of dormancy or stagnation in the life of a believer. It encompasses the resurfacing of a love for God, an appreciation of God's holiness, a passion for His Word and His church, a convicting awareness of personal and corporate sin, a spirit of humility, and a desire for repentance and growth in righteousness. Revival invigorates and sometimes deepens a believer's faith, opening his or her eyes to the truth in a fresh, new way. It generally involves the connotation of a fresh start with a clean slate, marking a new beginning of a life lived in obedience to God. Revival breaks the charm and power of the world, which blinds the eyes of men, and generates both the will and power to live in the world but not of the world.

Revival, in many respects, replicates the believer's experience when he or she is saved. It is initiated by a prompting of the Holy Spirit, creating an awareness of something missing or wrong in the believer's life that can only be righted by God. In turn, the Christian must respond from the heart, acknowledging his or her need. Then, in a powerful way, the Holy Spirit draws back the veil the world has cast over the truth, allowing the believers to fully see themselves in comparison to God's majesty and holiness. Obviously, such comparisons bring great humility, but also great awe of God and His truly amazing grace (Isaiah 6:5). Unlike the original conversion experience that brings about a new relationship to God, however, revival represents a restoration of fellowship with God, the relationship having been retained even though the believer had pulled away for a time.

The evidence of revival then is a great outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon believers, and changed lives. Great movements toward righteousness, evangelism, and social justice occur. Believers are once again spending time in prayer and reading and obeying God’s Word. Believers begin to powerfully use their spiritual gifts. There is confession of sin and repentance.

Revival in my life depends on the work of the Holy Spirit to bring me to the place where I see myself as God sees me; then I must submit myself to Him again as I did at the moment of my salvation.  He then renews my joy, and my fellowship is restored like that of a new believer.  Lord, I want revival in my soul today.  If you do too, pray for revival!  Pray for revival in your own life!  Pray for revival in our church!!

Pray for our Spring Revival!

We begin Sunday with Rev. Freddie Harris speaking.

Please praise the Lord that Dr. Joe Jordan had a successful coronary artery bypass surgery Thursday.   Pray for a full and rapid recovery.

Please pray for Peggy Warren.  She is in a lot of pain from a partially crushed disc in her lower back.  However, surgery is not recommended.

Please continue to pray for Jennifer Teboe Buchamer.   She had her treatment of Keytruda on March the 26th.  She has had some pain recently.  She has a CT scan coming on April 17th.  Pray for good results.

Please pray for Phil Corey in his continual dialysis treatments.  Please pray for Michelle and for Doris too.  Doris is having problems with her blood pressure.

Please pray for Robbie Harvey, Barbara Teboe’s nephew, who has MAC lung disease.   He fell and broke several ribs.  He is now home from the hospital but in a lot of pain.

Please continue to pray for Beth Buchta that her hip will completely heal.  She saw the doctor the other day and found she was overusing her hip.  Her recovery can take up to a year.

Please pray for Madison Bowers Millwee.  She is now at 32 weeks and is doing well.  Everything is relatively stable at this point.  She will continue modified bedrest until she delivers.

Please continue to pray for Marvin Silverthorne for his eyesight to improve.
